University of Auckland

Student life at the University of Auckland

The University of Auckland consists of eight faculties on six campuses around Auckland. City Campus is located in the heart of Auckland with good access to all facilities and cultural events in New Zealand's largest city.

The campus is very appealing; it lies within short distance of beautiful parks and the coast. Grafton Campus is located right next to the Auckland Hospital in downtown Auckland, where one can study health sciences, including nursing. This campus is within walking distance of the City Campus. Other campuses are Epsom Campus (Faculty of Education), Tai Tokerau Campus, Tamaki Campus, Leigh Marine Laboratory and the Manukau Institute of Technology. As a rule, international students study at City and Grafton campuses.

Facilities

All the campuses have both cafés, shops, library and whatever else you may need. Since the City Campus is the main campus it also has some additional facilities such as health care, day care and fitness.

Transportation

In Auckland you can often walk or cycle, but public transport is also well developed in this city. You can take the bus, train, ferry or go by car. There is also a shuttle bus between campuses several times a day.

Housing

The University has a wide range of student housing. Several hundred students live there. Food, fully furnished apartments and social events are included. There is also a good chance of finding apartments on your own in Auckland, but they are often unfurnished.
