Queensland University of Technology
QUT has two campuses, both located relatively close to the centre of Brisbane.
Gardens Point Campus is located by the Brisbane River in the city centre, next to the Botanical Gardens and Parliament House. From here there it's only a short distance to shopping, restaurants, theaters, galleries and public transport including the free shuttle buses, city buses, trains and ferries.
Kelvin Grove Campus is located in a beautiful area just 2 km from downtown Brisbane. The campus has good access to public transport and buses run to both the city centre and the Gardens Point Campus every 10 min. Kelvin Grove Campus is also just a 20 minute walk from Roma Street Transit Centre.
Gardens Point and Kelvin Grove campus is designed for international students and has all excellent facilities such as: libraries, cafes, various sports halls and clubs only to name a few.
You can use both public transport and there are also free shuttle busses between the two campus areas. Garden Point is located only a short walk from downtown Brisbane and Kelvin Grove is located 2 kilometers outside the city centre. Most students with their everyday student life at Gardens Point find the public transport sufficient while a lot of students at Kelvin Grove decides to buy a car.
QUT offers student housing at Kelvin Grove Campus. The residence is called Kelvin Grove Urban Village and has both simple student housing where you share kitchen and bathroom with others and apartments with higher standard. The Housing Office at QUT also helps students that wish to look for housing on the private housing market. Most Scandinavians choose to share an apartment or a house with other students. Normally it is fairly simple to find a place to live.
