Melbourne has more than 3.8 million inhabitants and La Trobe has a total of six campuses, all located in the beautiful state of Victoria. The main campus Bundoora is located approximately 14 km outside of central Melbourne and is surrounded by a large park area.

Melbourne is Australia's second largest city and very popular among students. There are more than 50,000 students from around the world in Melbourne and Melbourne has been appointed to be one of the world's best cities to live in.

The weather is wonderful and you can enjoy the warm and delightful weather in some of the many parks and charming streets of the city. The city is leading within fashion, sports, nightlife, music, restaurants and events. Just outside the city you will find fantastic beaches and national parks.

Population

The city is popular as a student city and the street scene is marked by many young students and by tow of Melbourne's large minorities; Greeks and Italians. Melbourne citizens are very social and outgoing, they love to meet in cafes and restaurants and most of them are dedicated fans of Australian football.

Climate

The climate in Melbourne is temperate maritime characterized by changeable weather with continuous wet and often cloudy periods. The average temperature varies throughout the year between 13 and 26 degrees Celsius. Winter is during June, July and August and summer is during the months of November, December and January.
